Galápagos tortoises lead an uncomplicated life, grazing on grass, leaves, and cactus, basking in the sun, and napping nearly 16 hours per day. A slow metabolism and large internal stores of water mean they can survive up to a year without eating or drinking.

Spanish sailors who discovered the archipelago in 1535 actually named it after the abundant tortoises; the Spanish word for tortoise is galápago. Read more here

  • They’ve got excellent eyesight allowing them to spot prey or detect danger a long way away.

  • Although classed as omnivores they tend to stick to an herbivorous diet.

  • Green iguanas have very sharp teeth capable of shredding leaves and puncturing human skin.

We love curiosity stream! It is a streaming service full of awesome documentaries about all the things.

I made these pages specifically from this little show “Cities of the Sea” - it’s a short show exploring under the sea off the California coast.

California Market Squid

The free page below has a bunch of California Market Squid to color. I am pretty excited to color this one because there is something about a page full of the same object - I love to give each of them their own unique look and color.

A Bunch of Fish

I love seeing schools of fish swimming around - I don’t know why but there’s something hypnotic about it, it just makes me happy. There were some great shots of fish doing their thing in this show so I used it as an excuse to draw some new fish and make this page full of them!
