1 Train, a train coloring page

A simple train pulling three empty cars and puffins smoke. This is part of my collection of numbers coloring pages with vehicles

Trains chug along the tracks, powered by the rhythmic hum of engines, carrying the stories of travelers from one destination to another. The clickety-clack of steel wheels on iron rails reverberates through the air, as trains connect cities and evoke a sense of nostalgia for bygone eras.

Kids and grown-up kids seem to love trains. I have a dream of going across the country by train and making a ton of stops along the way.

For now I have to settle for coloring pages of trains instead of the real thing. If you’re in a similar boat (he he) I hope you find the perfect train page for the occasion.

I think I can train coloring sheet

I think I can, I think I can! This is from a classic children’s book about a little train engine who positive thought himself right through a difficult task. There is a time for “I think I can” and a time for “I can get some help” and a time for “I’ll find a different route” and a time for “I quit” - There is a whole lot of wisdom in knowing what time it is.

If it’s time for “I think I can” well I have the perfect coloring page for that time ;)

Train with Clouds coloring page

This simple train engine is pulling two cars. One is full of something - you can use your imagination. Is is coal? Is is gold? Is it bubble gum? Is it some unknown substance and this train conductor is on a super secret mission involving saving the planet?

Can’t wait to see how you guys color this cute little train (or super secret spy train.)

Choo Choo train coloring sheet

When my brothers were little they called trains “choo choo’s” - I think that’s probably pretty common. What did you call trains when you were young? Did you call them “trains?” Or something completely different?

If you like this little train best, just use the button below to print and color it instantly today.

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo train color printable

This is the same train drawing from above but with different colorable words, just so you can have a little extra variety.

When it comes to describing the sound that trains make, we instinctively say, "Chugga Chugga."
But why do we use this particular phrase to mimic the rhythmic sound of a train in motion?

The phrase "chugga chugga" is an example of onomatopoeia, a linguistic device used to imitate sounds. Much like "buzz" for bees or "hiss" for a snake, "chugga chugga" represents the repetitive noise that trains make as they move along the tracks. The chugging sound is produced when a steam locomotive or a diesel engine cycles through its power strokes to generate motion.

I so hope you train loving, coloring loving people out there discover and love my free train color pages. When I make more train pages, I’ll add them right here.
