I am a proponent of positive thinking, but part of keeping positive thinking nontoxic is acknowledging when things just suck.
There is a time to press forward and a time to sit down and say, that really sucks.
There’s a time to look for silver lining and there’s a time to say, yes that is a large pile of suck sitting right there and I’m not ready to look for anything beautiful in it right now.
There is a time to say “it’s going to be okay,” and there is a time to say “that sucks!”
