If you haven’t read it yet, you can get Roll With It HERE.

I am not affiliated with Jamie (aside from being internet friends ;) ) or her publishers - this is just some fun fan art for you to enjoy for fellow fans of the book.

You can find more like this in by BASED ON BOOKS section which will be getting a lot of love (meaning lots more based on books posts) in the coming months!

“A big-hearted story that’s as sweet as it is awesome.” —R.J. Palacio, author of Wonder

In the tradition of Wonder and Out of My Mind, this big-hearted middle grade debut tells the story of an irrepressible girl with cerebral palsy whose life takes an unexpected turn when she moves to a new town.

Ellie’s a girl who tells it like it is. That surprises some people, who see a kid in a wheelchair and think she’s going to be all sunshine and cuddles. The thing is, Ellie has big dreams: She might be eating Stouffer’s for dinner, but one day she’s going to be a professional baker. If she’s not writing fan letters to her favorite celebrity chefs, she’s practicing recipes on her well-meaning, if overworked, mother.

But when Ellie and her mom move so they can help take care of her ailing grandpa, Ellie has to start all over again in a new town at a new school. Except she’s not just the new kid—she’s the new kid in the wheelchair who lives in the trailer park on the wrong side of town. It all feels like one challenge too many, until Ellie starts to make her first-ever friends. Now she just has to convince her mom that this town might just be the best thing that ever happened to them!

Welcome To Eufala!

In “Roll With It” the main character Ellie moves to Eufala, hence this little “Welcome to Eufala” page ;)

When you’re finished reading “Roll With It” I highly recommend picking up “Tune it Out” - Jamie’s second middle-grade novel. Both are fantastic.

Writing Prompt

In Roll With It, Ellie writes letters to her favorite bakers. It’s my favorite part of the book because I get a little giddy about people, especially little people, who have such a specific and intense passion for one particular interest. I’m the kind of person whose interest is spread across about 50 different subjects, but I’m often a little envious of those who, like Ellie, are mostly interested in one particular passion.

I hope you enjoy these! I’m trying to make it a point to make some pages every time I enjoy a book and am inspired to make some. That way my “based on books” section should grow to a respectable size in no time!
