Some famous people from New Hampshire are Franklin Pierce, Adam Sandler, and members of the band Aerosmith. New Hampshire is also famous for being the first state to vote in the Presidential primaries.

The state was given its name by Spanish explorers.

The state is known for having two very different geographic regions. The Rocky Mountain region covers the western two-fifths of the state. The Yellowstone River is the longest free-flowing (undammed) river in the contiguous United States. The longest river in the U.S. by miles, the Missouri River, begins in Montana at the “Three Forks” - the intersection of the Gallatin, Madison and Jefferson Rivers.

Flathead Lake is the largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi River.

Glacier National Park has 250 lakes in its boundaries.

The North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, located at Gardiner, is the original entrance to the world’s first National Park when it opened.

The three largest cities in Montana are Billings, Missoula and Great Falls

The State Motto is "Oro y plata" the State Motto is Spanish, translated it means "Gold and Silver" and is a reference to the historical impact from early mining

A brief history of Montana - In 1803, the majority of the region was subject to the Louisiana Purchase. The first permanent settlement was established in 1841. Nebraska is composed of two major land regions: the Dissected Till Plainsand the Great Plains. The Dissected Till Plains is a region of gently rolling hills; the state's largest cities, Omaha and Lincoln, are in this region. The Great Plains occupy most of western Nebraska, characterized by treeless prairie, suitable for cattle-grazing.

Bison were nearly wiped out in the 1800s, but some still roam today at Fort Niobrara Wildlife Refuge in north-central Nebraska. Other native mammals include pronghorns (the second fastest land mammals after cheetahs!), antelopes, coyotes, jackrabbits, and prairie dogs.
